We are looking for a mid-level Human Resources Manager who is looking for a growth opportunity and will work with the management team to develop, align, and execute HR programs and initiatives in support of ZGSS business plans. The HR manager will oversee employee orientations and training programs as well as the implementation of firm policies and guidelines. This individual will work with leadership to address individual and firm-wide employee needs and to manage personnel issues. This role is ideal for candidates knowledgeable about California leave laws and will work across our Chicago and Modesto offices, as well as our remote employees. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, a good problem-solver, discreet, and able to work independently with little supervision.

Essential Job Functions:
- Manage the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants in consultation with management, verifying work-history and references, background screenings, and applicant tracking.
- Conduct new hire HR orientations, prepare new-employee files and benefit enrollment packets.
- Manage the annual performance evaluation process.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Administer and provide support for the benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, vendor management and terminations.
- Administer, prepare, and maintain employment records related to all leaves of absence in accordance to state and federal laws.
- Address employee relations issues, conduct employee relations investigations, support with discipline, and follow up. Provide guidance and support to supervisors with information or training related to performance evaluations, counseling techniques, or documentation of performance issues.
- Execute all employee termination procedures, including advising employees on their rights and any benefits they are entitled to.
- Maintain records of personnel-related data in both paper and HRIS.
- Complete special human resources projects including setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, developing, and organizing information; and analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports.
Skills:
- Current knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems in California and Illinois.
- In-depth understanding of sourcing tools, such as applicant tracking systems and online job boards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive data and issues with confidentiality.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
Education:
- Minimum of 4 years of human resource management experience.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
